## Syntax

```lua
int fileGetSize(file file)
```

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `file` | `file` | A file opened by `fileOpen` or `fileCreate`. |

## Returns

The size in bytes.

## Example

```lua
local file = fileOpen("data.json", true)
local text = fileRead(file, fileGetSize(file))
fileClose(file)
```
