- **Platform**: MY Multiplayer (MYMP)
- **Kind**: Lua Function
- **Side**: Client
- **Category**: Vehicle looks
- **URL**: https://wiki.mymp.gg/en/triggerVehicleBackfire

## Syntax

```lua
bool triggerVehicleBackfire(vehicle vehicle)
```

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `vehicle` | `vehicle` | The vehicle. |

## Returns

`true` if it was requested, `false` if the vehicle is not streamed in.

It works even with the automatic flames turned off by `setVehicleBackfireEnabled`.

## Example

```lua
bindKey("b", "down", function()
    local vehicle = getPedOccupiedVehicle(localPlayer)
    if vehicle then
        triggerVehicleBackfire(vehicle)
end)
```

### Note

The flame only shows if the vehicle has exhausts and is within 30 metres of the camera; otherwise the request is dropped.
